The lead story is about China's giant telecom company Huawei. The company has installed 500 Telepresence systems worldwide and is targeting to install a further 1000 Telepresence systems in 2011. Huawei is setting up an aggressive Telepresence distribution channel in Europe and its new Telepresence model TP3106 and Telepresence MCU were demonstrated recently at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and at CEBIT in Hanover, Germany.

Telepresence and HD Videoconferencing stories are: The SCOR group, a leading international reinsurance company, has installed Polycom RPX immersive Telepresence systems at its in six business hubs: Paris, Zurich, London, Cologne, Singapore and New York; Starwood Hotels partners with Tata Communications to open an in-hotel Cisco TelePresence meeting suite at The Sheraton Dallas Hotel; Starwood Hotels now has TP public rooms in 17 locations worldwide; In Australia, Oakton, a leading technology and business consulting company has selected LifeSize HD video conferencing equipment to video link its offices.

New equipment news: CSC has launched TelePresence as a Service, a managed, always-on  HD video conferencing service using the Cisco TelePresence product suite and CSC skills in managing corporate networks; Swiss bank UBS is already a satisfied user; CeeLab has launched in Europe its Arrow1000 720p HD videoconferencing system (based on the Sony PCS-TL33 model) for the executive desktop or room which now drives two screens.
